Advanced Functional Materials
Material Design and Discovery
We design and engineer a broad spectrum of advanced multifunctional materials. These are:
-
2D materials and derivatives (graphene (G), molybdenum disulfide (MoS2), boron nitride (BN) and the recently discovered MXene (Mn+1Xn, where M = early transition metal, X = C, N and n = 1, 2, or 3).
-
Metal oxides (homo/hetero).
-
Metallic structures (e.g. Ag).
-
Nanocomposites (CHFS not only enables control over the oxidation state of 2D nanomaterials, but also offers an optimal route for homogeneously producing and depositing highly crystalline metal oxides onto 2D-materials, as well as forming intimate mixtures of inorganic compounds when required).
-
We also print our as-synthesised CHFS materials in 3D structures.
